LUDSYS is an educational puzzle game, or serious game, for Android OS based on Brian Silverman's cellular automata, Wireworld. A serious game may be understood as a system structured on a simulation, the manipulation of which affords the user some educational value in the form of developed knowledge. LUDSYS guides players through the construction of virtual logic circuits, developing the player's understanding from the basic patterns with a set of five tutorial levels, after which follow more difficult puzzles. Serious games interrogate the roles of declarative and performative knowledge and the different contexts in which these systems of knowledge emerge.
