Kalightoscope

Ana Tavera Mendoza
Project Description

Kalightoscope is a very large kaleidoscope whose images are formed by over two-hundred lights and three mirrors, and sits squarely at the intersection between a very large object, a sculpture, and a digital installation. Set on a carpeted floor and with soft cushions at one’s disposal, the Kalightoscope’s aim is to allow the viewer to enter a contemplative state and feel a sense of wonder, like that of a child’s first contact with a glass kaleidoscope.
