Digital technology is evolving at a rapid rate. The pace at which new technology is being spat out means that digital obsolescence is at its peak, and the threat of a digital dark age is looming. Because of this rapid evolution and proliferation, retrieval and playback technologies can become useless in a very short period of time, which is particularly problematic with digital media formats. Where Are They Now? is an informative and interactive website that takes a look at various obsolete media formats, highlighting their history, their decline, and where they are now.
