Artist Statement

Oriented towards sustainable development, Thomas Courboin is searching for alternative methods of producing and consuming. He understands design as a way of thinking, as much as a tool to communicate concepts and ideologies. His work is guided by his fascination for complex ecologies, and translates his love of nature in various manners, may it be through the materials or the function of an object. In addressing issues like overconsumption and the excessive use of natural resources, his creations attempt to raise awareness towards major environmental and social issues society could run into, while trying to offer tangible solutions.
