Artist Statement

Alissa Greene thinks of her practice as an escape into different worlds, quirky, light hearted and not easily explained, but intriguing. Playing with the realms of possibility and fantasy, she aims to create a place where one can escape even if just for a few seconds. She draws inspiration from fairy tales, cautionary tales hidden behind a world of the impossible made possible, where there are no boundaries. She uses a variety of materials, playing with both her illustration and graphic design practices, merging her two worlds to create her own unique one.
