Artist Statement

In a society where we are bombarded with messages and images, the interactions that ensue are a major source of inspiration for Mathieu’s projects. He does not, however, try to impose anything to the user contrary to the majority of the interactions we usually face. Through a process that mixes image, sound and real-time interactions, he tries to give control of his projects to the users, or rather, to have an environment that will adapt to their reactions. The domains of psychology and the automation of environment are, among others, sources that he refers to a lot to create.
