Farah Sadek uses her acquired skills in product, graphic and media design to address matters of concern. An enmeshment of Montreal, Egypt and Abu Dhabi challenges her complex notion of home, as each milieu contributes to her self-identity as a citizen, designer and learner. Alongside studies at Concordia University, she works as a designer for the Arab Development Initiative, acknowledging design’s power as an agent for social and cultural change. Farah is interested in autodidactism and collaborative work, where her driving force is bridging cultures, embracing heritage, empowering communities and designing for change while strongly believing that "development starts from within.”
