The Cray Chairs

Project Description

The Cray Chairs offer an alternative to designing, buying, and disposing of a new chair. These lively seat cushions are handmade using typographic play, silkscreening and zero-waste sewing patterns. They make a seat more comfortable, revamp a space and spur conversation - plus, they are portable, collapsible and can be used virtually anywhere! By commemorating their famous counterparts, the Cray Chairs aim to educate and empower the sitter on the legacy of its iconic design past. The Chairs are modeled after their idols, Dining Chair Wood by Charles and Ray Eames and the Ghost Chair by Philippe Starck.
