Project Description

Often, “bagging” the deceased is a procedure reserved for humans and animals. Fashions, cultures and ideologies also expire, as do their transcended objects. The team decided to push this notion further through furniture design, specifically chairs, as they are conceptually dead and do not have the sustainable resiliency or conceptual relevance needed to move forward. Body Bag is an attempt to create a discourse around the condition of objects. The artists decided to veil items as a formal gesture. This object collapses, facilitating transport and reuse in multiple spaces, creating a performative dynamic piece, furthering the discourse of the concept.
