Artist Statement

Eli Kerr approaches design as a potential space for critical inquiry, as well as a methodology towards material responses. Formally, Eli’s work often references human scale as he is interested in the political and material economies inscribed into everyday objects. He is interested in design as it affords a widened terrain to navigate and question one's surroundings. He has frequently exhibited and curated exhibitions throughout Montreal over the past four years and plans to keep a concern of design at the center of his production as a main point of inquiry.
