Artist Statement

Andreea Vrabie is a multi-disciplinary artist currently living and working in Montreal. She works with all kinds of media, using traditional materials as well as digital processes. Besides her passion for illustration and graphics, the UQAM graduate (BA, Graphic Design) has recently discovered animation as a form of expression. Her research is based primarily on simple analogies between individuals and their understandings of matters around them. Often referencing psychological issues, these are expressed as dreams, insomnia, the unreal, absurdity, and role-playing. She tends to explore these themes in visual forms that encourage viewer interpretations based on their own personal perspectives.
