Diego Briceño is a Colombian-born mediamaker who has worked for over 15 years as a director, producer and editor on social documentaries in Montreal. Driven by narrative, ethics and collaboration, his work often focuses on issues of exploitation, empowerment and North-South relations. He has directed five documentaries, including a documentary series, which have all played on television and/or shown at national and international film festivals. In recent years, he has developed a strong interest in participatory media through a series of projects, one produced by the NFB and others through Makila, a media co-op he co-founded.
