Artist Statement

Allan is interested in critical social designs, that call into question shared cultural illusions of society. Objects have a utility as well as a narrative potential that can drastically and directly shape behaviours and in turn, mindsets of the users. There is a tactility to that change that allows for a more measured understanding of impact, both positive and negative. It is integral that design can have understanding that extends beyond the academic realm of design scrutiny and bleeds into the “real world”.
